Here is good news for all students that Punjab Government has implemented Teaching of The Holy Qur’an with Translation in Universities of Punjab. Students must get the Teachings of The Holy Qur’an with the Urdu Translation. Without completing this course graduates would not get their degree.
Teaching of The Holy Qur’an with Translation in Universities of Punjab
Government of Punjab has implemented compulsion of Teaching of The Holy Qur’an with Urdu Translation till Master’s Degree. Regarding this, Secretariat of Governor Punjab has also issued the notification on Sunday June 14, 2020.
Governor and also Chancellor of all Universities in Punjab Mr. Chauhdhry Sarwar has issued the notification to teach The Holy Qur’an in all universities as a separate subject from Islamiyat. This is the big initiative and step by the Punjab Government the first time in the Education History of Pakistan. According to notification that without learning Course of The Holy Qur’an With Urdu Translation graduates cannot get their degrees.“Student will not be awarded a degree if he or she does not study the Course of Holy Qur’an with Urdu translation,” said in the notification.
Students will seek The Holy Qur’an with Urdu translation. This will not be compulsory subject of Islamiyat. However this course will beside Islamiyat subject and without completing this course students cannot get their degrees. The purpose of introducing this course at graduate and above level is to spread the knowledge of Islam among The Youth whose have forgotten their Islamic Traditions and Right Path.
Earlier in the month of April 2020, Governor Punjab Mr. Chauhdhry Muhammad Sarwar had composed a Seven Member Committee of Vice-chancellors to submit their suggestions on how to make the teaching of The Holy Qur’an compulsory part of the syllabus. He said that classes in which students will seek the Course of Holy Qur’an with Translation in Urdu will be compulsory for students and the essential qualification will be made to the constitution.
